New Life Community Newsletter

Week of August 2, 2020

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:3-6 NIV)

Dear New Life Community Church,

It has been a great joy for Sandra and me (and our boys) to settle into Ukiah early last week...

June 16th

We are just a week away from the arrival of Pastor Marttell Sanchez and his dear family; his wife, Sandra, and boys, Christian and Kaleo, as he formally candidates for the position of Lead Pastor at New Life Community Church. Marttell’s background, ministry experience and gifting by the Holy Spirit, lend well to his good fit with both our church and our community. They will arrive on Tuesday, June 23, and be with us through the following Monday, June 29. Included in this time will be meetings with leadership, congregation, and others during the week leading up to Sunday, June 28, when Pastor Marttell preaches, followed by an all church vote regarding his candidacy and future with us. Please mark your calendar and plan on being an active part of this special time in the life of our church. If you have any questions please call Pastor Mike, members of the executive board or the church office

Surviving the Chaos?

So, last weekend we focused upon what it takes, not only to survive the chaos of our day but to keep growing through it. We have been promised by our Savior that we would not be immune or insulated from the troubles that come in life, but that we could overcome them, just like our Savior. Surviving and overcoming includes applying Jesus teaching on prayer, receiving his care where the need is greatest and keeping an eye on the eastern sky, for His soon return.

Jesus IS Our Good Shepherd!

May 27th

We now are having a weekly prayer time on Tuesday evenings from 7-8 p.m. What a wonderful time we had this week, as we joined our hearts and voices in praise, worship and intercession for our church, our community, and our world, amid this interesting season we are all experiencing. We are using Zoom as our online video platform. You are warmly encouraged to join, beginning this Tuesday, by following the instructions below:

Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd,

they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle

of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith, he said,

"Friends, your sins are forgiven."
