Just as "We love because he first loved us" (1 John 4:19), we give because the Father first gave us Christ (John 3:16). This is why giving is such a sacred space—it's one of the ways we express grateful worship to our Savior.
At the same time, our giving helps us as a church to do the work of the gospel both near and far. So, whether we share in others' needs here locally, support missionaries around the world, or gift a Bible to a visitor, our giving is also a joyful and tangible "partnership in the gospel" (Philippians 1:5).
